The Raiders are still two months away from opening the new stadium but there is still time for some quick cash.
The AFL is still on track to have the first AFL match of the season on February 2, but the AFL will need to raise the $2.5 billion needed by 2020 to make it happen.
The Raiders have until April 30 to raise that amount, and they could do so as early as Wednesday.
If they do, the Raiders could start their new season at a new home at the new $3.3 billion stadium in Sydney’s west.
“The Raiders will be playing at a brand-new venue in Sydney in February 2021,” AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan said in a statement on Wednesday.
“We expect to see the first home match of a new season in a stadium with a capacity of 100,000 spectators.”
The new stadium is expected to open to the public in 2021.
The Sydney Cricket Ground, built in 2006, is expected as a home of the NRL club.
The venue is also used for the NRL All-Star game and other major sporting events.
The new NRL venue will be built on the site of the former Olympic Stadium in Sydney, and is expected for a 2021 opening.
The NRL was given permission to redevelop the old Sydney Olympic stadium in 2019.
It has been renamed the Sydney Cricket Park, after former NRL player Shaun Johnson.
The stadium has been in use since 1994.
The team will play its first game in 2021 against the Bulldogs at the Sydney Olympic Stadium.
The Eagles will play at the NRL Stadium in 2020.
The club is also expected to host the New South Wales Origin series in 2019, while the Western Bulldogs will play a home game against the Raiders in 2021 at ANZ Stadium.
