Westside soccer team’s founder Shailendra Sharma is facing a court order seeking Rs 1 crore in damages for his defamation in the case.
In a court hearing on Thursday, Justice Shailesh Kumar Sharma issued the order, asking the accused to produce evidence before him in the matter.
The court had on Thursday directed Shailherd to produce the affidavits of four persons to prove that he was not a member of Westside, and that he never gave a contract to a person from the club.
The bench also directed him to produce copies of his two contracts and other documents, including bank statements and bank records, to prove his innocence.
Westside was founded by Shailerendra Sharma, who was awarded the Golden Boot award for the best young Indian sportsman in 2015.
The trial is scheduled to resume on May 20.
