Manchester United’s interest in the former Barcelona goalkeeper is “very serious” but there is no agreement yet, according to his agent.

The 28-year-old goalkeeper is the latest star player to be linked with a move to the Premier League this summer and the latest player to join the ranks of Manchester United as part of their new five-man shortlist for the Champions League spots.

However, there are no final decisions in the transfer.

De Geavies agent, Stefano Bassotti, told SportItalia that United are in the early stages of the process and he is confident the player will be signed.

“It’s very serious and a lot of people have their thoughts.

But there is nothing done yet, but we have to wait,” he said.

“We want him to stay here, because we are confident in him and he has the best chance to be a great goalkeeper for the next five years.”

“United are the ones who are ready to sign him and the rest will come.

It’s about a year, two or three years before we get a contract.

We have to find a solution to his situation. “

It will depend on what happens in the summer, but it’s a possibility.

We have to find a solution to his situation.

The player is young, he has a lot to offer and he wants to play in the Champions league.

There’s no doubt he wants it.”

United have a strong squad and will have a player on their books for at least another season.

Bassotti also confirmed that the club will not be able to offer De Geaveh the number one shirt, which is currently worn by Marouane Fellaini.

“We will not have it for next season.

I’m not going to say whether it’s going to be the number four or the number five,” he added.

“There’s a lot we want from him and I hope he will accept it and accept the opportunity to play for us.”

The news comes a day after Jose Mourinho confirmed De Gehea would be offered a move away from Old Trafford.

A deal to bring him to United is expected to be completed this summer but the Spanish manager also admitted that he would not have been able to bring De Geaves number one jersey to United in his first year.

In his press conference, Mourinho said: “We don’t have the number of the top players in the Premier league, so we are not going there.

It would be a good choice if I was here.”

But in my second season at the club, if we are lucky, we will have the best players in Europe.

And I think if we don’t, I will never play at United.
